Colorectal Cancer Screening
Colon and rectal cancer is the second most common cancer in the U.S. It is also the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Because of its incidence, it is recommended that all people have Colorectal Cancer screening starting at age 50.
For many woman, their Gynecologist visit is the only medical service they routinely receive. Therefore, it is common for our physicians to perform "in-office" occult blood screening. It is the physicians decision as to whether they recommend and perform this service.
We still recommend further screening options with a gastroenterologist. If you have already established care with a gastroenterologist, then we will help you setup an appointment if you desire. If you don't have a GI doctor, then we can assist you in selecting one and help make the appointment.
